Janet Tavener's practice has extended over the past 30 years encompassing both photography and sculpture. Since 2002, her practice has explored the changing nature of consumption and the geopolitics of food production and distribution in both contemporary and colonial Australia. Her work has been exhibited in several major art awards including the Blake Prize, the Sir John Sulman Prize and more recently the National Photographic Portrait Prize.
