As we head toward the end of the year, group shows and fund-raisers dot the exhibition calendar with increasing frequency but Brenda May Gallery's Elephant in The Room (until November 29, Brenda May Gallery, Waterloo, Tuesday-Friday 11am-6pm, Saturday 10am-6pm) stands out as a great show that supports a worthy cause. The elephant in this particular room is the relationship between animals and humans, explored through close study and intriguing metaphor, from sculpture and painting to video and works produced on an iPad. With 20 per cent of each sale from the show going to the Animal Welfare League, this is an opportunity to ponder what sharing a world means through art, while your cash goes some way to making that world a better place.
